(OLD) Nyka biography 2011

Here be the latest biography of one of my characters, catgirl Nyka.

Background: Nyka wasn’t always a catgirl. She originates from a small dairy farm where cats were aplenty. Her parents made their living by hunting rats, mice, and other pesky rodents along with keeping company to the farmers and animals alike, and in return they got a home to live in and lots of milk to drink. Eventually nature had its way and the feline couple was blessed with a litter. One of the kittens was a cute blonde female among her numerous black, white and brown siblings. Unfortunately the farmer had no use for so many cats and thus he gave away some of the kittens, the little blonde one also having to go despite the farmer’s daughter wishing to keep the cutie. The blonde kitten ended up in the care of a young self-proclaimed chemistry genius who was on his way to prove himself to the world. She was lucky, since this man loved cats above all, and she was given a good loving home. She was named Nyka and there she lived happily as any housecat, napping all day long and having fun with her owner.
One day Nyka’s life got a dramatic turn. Some of the young man’s alchemic concoction got mixed into her milk and she was transformed. The humanoid Nyka and her master’s relationship changed as dramatically as the catgirl’s appearance and they both had quite the bit of adapting to do in the new situation. The alchemist had to introduce the lass to the lifestyle of humans and she gave him a hard time in return trying to learn in her own unique way.

Personality: Nyka has many traits similar to a cat. She likes to play with round things, she’s energetic and her mood can change easily. It doesn’t take much to get her spirits back up if she’s unhappy and as a downside she could get upset as quickly. She avoids getting upset, though, since she doesn't like negative feelings. That's why she tries her best to do things right, to avoid getting her friends and herself upset. Some of the biggest and best qualities in the catgirl are her friendliness and general happiness. Nyka is a somewhat naive, too, mostly because she hasn’t spent much time as a humanoid so far. She has yet so much to learn from the human way of life and luckily her inquisitiveness and open-mind helps a great deal in that.

Relations: Nyka has few friends, because she hasn’t been away from her home much. Her absolute best friends are Anyssa and Evie whom she loves to play and spend time with. She’s not very fond of Anyssa’s pranks, but she knows how to get the fun out of them and turn them to her occasional advantage. She likes Evie because of her kindness and she can be a good ally when wanting to get even with prank-loving Anyssa. The catgirl sees Lilah as a mother of sorts who smiles most of the time and takes good care of the house. She also has the funniest ears Nyka's ever seen.
Nyka holds her owner (well, more like ex-owner, since she is no pet anymore) in highest regard for all the love she’s received. During the years spent with the alchemist her feelings have grown deep and strong towards him: an even better reason to help him and spend time with him whenever she can.
Love is not an alien term to Nyka. At one point she met another catgirl called Latte whom she befriended rather quickly after meeting her. Over time she liked to spend more and more time with her, and eventually she fell in love with Latte. The feeling was mutual, and the two became a cute couple.

Other notable: Nyka LOVES milk above all. When with her one should be careful with his/her milk or s/he might lose that treat in no time. Nyka can be very imaginative when it comes to getting her fingers on something milky. And whenever she enjoys dairy products, her body shows it. Her form reacts to it by growing big and curvaceous. The more she consumes, the bigger her chest and rump becomes. And that’s not all: her colours also change to match the flavour of the consumed product. Strawberry milk results in a pink-skinned Nyka with red hair and fur, chocolate milk makes her chocolate brown with dark brown hair, and normal milk turns her into an albino. The potion that transformed Nyka from cat to humanoid is most likely behind this odd side effect, but no one’s really sure about that. And from what the others have seen, the special quality doesn’t seem to have any ill effects on Nyka aside from making her too large for clothes. On rare occasions she has consumed so much milk that she’s actually started to lactate milk of her own, of the same flavour she consumed herself. Further experiments have also shown that those who drink Nyka’s milk share her strange transformation of changing colours and growth of body. Thankfully, the effects are only temporary, both on Nyka and the people who drink her milk.
This trait is quite similar to lactose intolerance and Nyka can avoid said change by having lactose-free dairy products.
